Le s\u00e9isme ne causa pas de grands dommages, elle fut r\u00e9par\u00e9e et rouverte au culte en 1696 (Fig. a).<br \/>Un grand escalier raide, d\u00e9limit\u00e9 par une haute grille en fer forg\u00e9, m\u00e8ne \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9glise (Fig. b) qui domine la Piazza della Repubblica. La fa\u00e7ade pr\u00e9sente deux niveaux couronn\u00e9s par un tympan et est divis\u00e9e en trois parties par six grandes colonnes. Le registre central s&rsquo;ouvre sur le portail d\u00e9cor\u00e9 de motifs floraux et surmont\u00e9 de sculptures repr\u00e9sentant les \u00e2mes du Purgatoire (Fig. c).<br \/>Deux petites niches en forme de coquille plac\u00e9es des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du portail abritent les statues de saint Paul et de saint Pierre.<br \/>L&rsquo;\u00e9glise subit d&rsquo;importantes transformations pendant tout le XVIIIe s. Initialement \u00e0 deux nefs, elle fut transform\u00e9e \u00e0 trois nefs avec un grand presbyt\u00e8re et une nouvelle toiture fut r\u00e9alis\u00e9e. Les nefs sont d\u00e9limit\u00e9es par des colonnes \u00e0 chapiteau corinthien (Fig. d), qui supportent un entablement en stucs dor\u00e9s (Fig. e). Les bandeaux le long des murs d&rsquo;enceinte sont d\u00e9cor\u00e9s de stucs repr\u00e9sentant des cr\u00e2nes portant des coiffes de papes, de cardinaux et de rois (Fig. f), appelant \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir sur la bri\u00e8vet\u00e9 de la vie et sur la vanit\u00e9 des ambitions de l&rsquo;homme.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
