C&rsquo;est \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque qu&rsquo;une premi\u00e8re communaut\u00e9 de Franciscains s&rsquo;\u00e9tablit \u00e0 Raguse, qui b\u00e2tirent le complexe \u00e0 la p\u00e9riph\u00e9rie de la ville pour \u00eatre au plus pr\u00e8s des pauvres et partager leur vie (Fig. a).<br \/>On sait peu du complexe d&rsquo;avant le s\u00e9isme car il fut endommag\u00e9, seuls quelques murs rest\u00e8rent debout. Il fut reconstruit dans le style baroque tardif avec des caract\u00e9ristiques du mani\u00e9risme apport\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur.<br \/>De l&rsquo;ancien b\u00e2timent reste aussi le clocher, dont seule la partie terminale s&rsquo;\u00e9tait effondr\u00e9e lors du s\u00e9isme et qui fut ensuite reconstruite. Son caract\u00e8re imposant avait longtemps fait croire qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agissait de la tour du ch\u00e2teau des Chiaramonte, dont la famille s&rsquo;\u00e9tait \u00e9tablie \u00e0 Raguse en 1299 apr\u00e8s la domination des Souabes.<br \/>On y acc\u00e8de par une entr\u00e9e lat\u00e9rale qui s&rsquo;ouvre dans une fa\u00e7ade sobre et donne acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la nef de droite (Fig. b). <br \/>La fa\u00e7ade post\u00e9rieure de l&rsquo;\u00e9glise donne sur la cour du couvent. C&rsquo;\u00e9tait la fa\u00e7ade principale de l&rsquo;\u00e9glise d\u00e9truite, dont il reste encore le portail en style souabe qui est orn\u00e9 de chapiteaux \u00e0 crochets (Fig. c).<br \/>L&rsquo;\u00e9glise, sans transept, est divis\u00e9e en trois nefs d\u00e9limit\u00e9es par de puissantes colonnes et pilastres \u00e0 chapiteau corinthien (Fig. d).<br \/>La nef centrale m\u00e8ne \u00e0 un presbyt\u00e8re qui remonte au XVIe s., cach\u00e9 \u00e0 la vue par une tribune en bois du d\u00e9but du XXe s. qui soutient la statue de l&rsquo;Immacul\u00e9e Conception.<br \/>Le pavement de l&rsquo;\u00e9glise, en calcaire et en <em>pierre pece<\/em>, pr\u00e9sente une int\u00e9ressante pierre tombale datant de 1577, r\u00e9alis\u00e9e elle aussi en <em>pierre pece<\/em>, orn\u00e9e d&rsquo;un bas-relief repr\u00e9sentant un chevalier espagnol avec une main pos\u00e9e sous la joue (Fig. e).<br \/>Le couvent, reconstruit sur le site du couvent d\u00e9truit, est constitu\u00e9 d&rsquo;un rez-de-chauss\u00e9e et d&rsquo;un \u00e9tage qui accueille les cellules des moines. Remarquables sont les peintures au-dessus des portes qui repr\u00e9sentant des personnalit\u00e9s de l&rsquo;ordre des Franciscains. On acc\u00e8de \u00e0 cet \u00e9tage par un magnifique escalier en <em>pierre pece<\/em> (Fig. f).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
