D\u00e9truite lors du tremblement de terre, elle fut reconstruite sur le m\u00eame site. <span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">Apr\u00e8s le s\u00e9isme, la ville continua \u00e0 se d\u00e9placer dans la vall\u00e9e o\u00f9 fut b\u00e2tie une \u00e9glise j\u00e9suite d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 saint Ignace de Loyola qui fut d\u00e9clar\u00e9e \u00e9glise m\u00e8re, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\"><em>,<\/em> entra\u00eenant ainsi l&rsquo;abandon des travaux de reconstruction de l&rsquo;\u00e9glise Saint-Matthieu.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">La fa\u00e7ade est structur\u00e9e sur deux niveaux : le premier pr\u00e9sente trois portails d\u00e9limit\u00e9s par des pilastres, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">. o\u00f9 le portail principal, plus grand par rapport aux deux portails lat\u00e9raux, est d\u00e9limit\u00e9 par des colonnes.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">Le second niveau, rest\u00e9 inachev\u00e9, est compos\u00e9 d&rsquo;une grande fen\u00eatre centrale, encadr\u00e9e de colonnes et de pilastres, et de deux volutes elliptiques <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">(Fig. b)<\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">La fa\u00e7ade lat\u00e9rale, tourn\u00e9e vers la ville, accueille un clocher tripartite \u00e0 arcades, construit l\u00e0 o\u00f9 se dressait l&rsquo;ancien clocher de l&rsquo;\u00e9glise d\u00e9truite par le s\u00e9isme <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">(Fig. c)<\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">L&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur \u00e0 plan basilical pr\u00e9sente trois nefs qui se terminent par trois absides quadrangulaires, structure qui refl\u00e8te probablement le plan m\u00e9di\u00e9val. La nef centrale est s\u00e9par\u00e9e des bas-c\u00f4t\u00e9s par des piliers, d\u00e9cor\u00e9s de pilastres coiff\u00e9s de chapiteaux d&rsquo;ordre composite <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">(Fig. d) <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">qui soutiennent de chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9 une architrave o\u00f9 s&rsquo;ouvrent cinq grandes fen\u00eatres (Fig. e).<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">Les travaux de restauration ont mis au jour le pavement en pierre blanche et noire de Raguse aux dessins
