Les deux arcades lat\u00e9rales, d\u00e9cal\u00e9es en arri\u00e8re de la fa\u00e7ade, abritent les cloches.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">Quatre statues sur pi\u00e9destal, ainsi que des putti et des motifs foliac\u00e9s, d\u00e9corent la fa\u00e7ade.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">L&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur, \u00e0 plan basilical et \u00e0 trois nefs, est d\u00e9cor\u00e9 de fresques et de stucs dor\u00e9s (Fig. d). Une chapelle, dite<\/span>\u00ab chapelle de la Madone des Milices \u00bb<span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">, abrite une statue en carton-p\u00e2te, dont l&rsquo;auteur est inconnu, et un tableau de la fin du XVIIIe s. r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par Francesco Pascucci, repr\u00e9sentant la bataille entre les Sarrasins et les chr\u00e9tiens qui se d\u00e9roula en 1091 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">(Fig. e)<\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">.<br \/><\/span>Cet \u00e9pisode historique est comm\u00e9mor\u00e9 par une f\u00eate qui se tient le dernier samedi du mois de mai. La tradition veut que la Madone, chevauchant un destrier en tenue guerri\u00e8re et \u00e9p\u00e9e d\u00e9gain\u00e9e, se pr\u00e9cipita pour d\u00e9fendre les chr\u00e9tiens dans la bataille de Donnalucata, o\u00f9 les Sarrasins guid\u00e9s par Belcane affront\u00e8rent les Normands de Roger de Hauteville, donnant ainsi la victoire aux Normands <span style=\"font-family: var(
